Reverend Paul Vigil
astor at St. Timothy Church, Father Paul E. Vigil, began his pastorate on July 1, 2009. He was born in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles in 1961 and is an “Angelino." He was raised with his four sisters, however, not far from Pasadena.
Growing up, he attended Catholic schools, graduating from Bishop Amat High School. After getting his A.A. from Pasadena Community College, he enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona and then entered St. John’s Seminary College in Camarillo in 1984. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he entered St. John’s Seminary (School of Theology), graduated and was ordained in 1991 at St. Vibiana’s Cathedral.
He learned the Spanish language in the seminary and has been able to work in parishes that have Spanish-speaking parishioners. Ordained since 1991, this is his second pastorate, previously serving as administrator and associate pastor at other parishes.
He is fortunate that his parents are still relatively young and in excellent health, which allows them to travel frequently. His father is of Spanish descent (mostly) and his mother is of Hungarian descent (mostly). He appreciates that his parents and sisters visit and attend Fr. Paul’s Mass about once a month. Fr. Paul is also proud of his nephew’s and nieces who live throughout California, from Lake Tahoe to Yorba Linda. In fact, his parents and sisters normally visit and attend Fr. Paul’s Mass about once a month.
Fr. Paul enjoys getting out to walk his Sheltie (Lily), exercising, reading books, listening to music, and eating healthy food!
He is happy to be at St. Timothy Church, although he misses parishioners from his previous parishes.
